Clock time

so the new TBM site thingy made me want to finish my gear clock

these were originally built my my uncle, but I re did the gear one because I broke it, over and over again








I figured I could glue the face art behind the clear CD on the gearclock and then paint the hands or perhaps make a new set of hands from some lexan so they have that translucent quality

let me know what you think, your input will go into the project

You should probably get some of those printing papers they use on Martha Stewart show, for a nice and shiny finish!

my first attempt at a face, this was done in paint, lol (basically a screen cap with the hands removed)

I'll be touching this up and sizing it soon then I have to figure out how to glue it on and then the hands... more ot this than you though eh?

just had a though of adding a vocal chime, might not be cheap so I might only make one or two, but I could do some audio editing and make a chime from various songs and be able to program in whatever I want... neat idea

first clock face was a failure, but im working on faces 2 and 3 which you can see are already printed

the base components are being glued and painted white

it's avery decal paper

I used clear paper so I had to paint the clock white, but you could just use the white decal paper

Also the hole in the center of the CD is too big for the nut that holds the face to the clock, so you need a washer or something, I used a plastic servo piece from my RC trucks drilled to the right size then glued to the back of the CD before I painted it
