I find it hard to list a top 10 of albums all time, but I know a few albums that would make the list for certain. I’m just gonna post these albums in a sort of review style and maybe come to a list later on. I think the best then albums at least could use some of my explanation

Eatliz - Violently Delicate
Hard to describe their music style in a few words, but they’ve succeeded by calling it “complicated pop” and that’s really what it is. They don’t feel bound by any genre and flawlessly made an album that combines the best of punk rock, hard rock, folk rock, heavy metal, pop, surf rock, gothic rock, britpop, power pop, Arabic music and jazz. The songs can be pretty radio friendly poppy (like “attractive” and “say where”. “Say where” is a song that starts of more dreamy and relaxed, but brings on an Arabic dance atmosphere during the song. Other songs have a more experimental approach (like “hey” and “violently delicate”, that starts of as a surf rock type of song, but also shows their darker side). One of my favorite songs has to be “I don’t care” which is the ultimate “summer song”, that starts off with a funky bassriff and builds up to be one of the highlights of the album. “Be invisible” is another highlight that can’t be forgotten and is written in the same vein as “say where”, with nice danceable parts. Their darker side shines through on songs like “violently delicate”, “hey” and “sunshine” which seems to focus on the ongoing war in their homeland (Israel).

With such diversity in an album and this well executed it deserves a place in my top 10 of albums (in my opinion). The way they can play with music and experiment with different styles, shows how talented they are. It’s their debut album, so I hope to hear much more of them in the future.

Eatliz - Hey
Eatliz - I Don't Care
Eatliz - Violently Delicate
Eatliz - Be Invisible

I don't really have a favorite album, All of their music is totally epic to me, that was the one that just happened to be on my mind at the time.

I like that. It requires a lot of time and patience to really get into their vibe(s) and understand what they're all about. I seem to be slowly digging them thanks to you, sir.

Been over a year since the last list. Time to update it!

10. Aiden - Conviction
I'm having a hard time explaining why I love this album. Seriously. Stereotypical emo lyrics, whiny vocals and generic instrumentals and I can't relate to a single song. But I don't know, I love it. Especially Bliss.

9. Billy Talent - II
I've listened to this album since it first came out in 2006. Ah, what a young lad I was. The album has always been amazing to me, and has actually gotten better to me over time. As I get older, I start to understand the lyrics more and more, and I realize how well written most of them are and how original the guitar parts are. Except for Where Is The Line and Perfect World. Those two stick out like a sore thumb and don't live up to the rest of the album.

8. Bubblegum Octopus - Bad Happy
Words can't describe Bubblegum Octopus or this album. This picture sums it up better than I can:

7. pmtoday - In Media Res
This is such an original album. It's so wonderful. It's like....indie rock mixed with post-hardcore. The lyrics are fantastic, yet depressing. Such a shame this band broke up.

6. Dream Theater - Metropolis Part 2: Scenes From A Memory
Quick story I want to share about this album. There's a guy named Julian, who is a percussion instructor I have, and a guy who has really changed my life. He was teaching my marching band, and I was having the absolutely shittiest day, so the last hour of rehearsal, he pulled me aside to talk to me about what was wrong. I told him all the reasons that this day was so horrible, and he told me about how much he can relate and told me how to fix the problem. He also said "For me, when I was in drum corps and having a shitty day, all I needed to do was listen to Dream Theater's Metropolis Part 2 and I'd feel better." so I went home and listened to this album. And it is so damn wonderful.

5. Thursday - Full Collapse
I said on my last list that I was going to love this album for a long time, and I still do. It's just wonderful. It's one of the most emotional albums I've ever heard, and Standing On The Edge Of Summer has gotten me through some really tough times, and it has a special place in my heart.

4. Darkest Hour - The Human Romance
Melodic and heavy at the same time. This album combines and showcases every element of Darkest Hour. Listen to this. Right now. Don't make Dyssy mad.

*Copy/pasta from last list*

3. The Birthday Massacre - Walking With Strangers
I'm on the VP, I don't think I need to try and explain why I love TBM and this album so much.

2. Tegan & Sara - Sainthood/The Con
Yeah, I put two albums as my number two spot, because I reeeeally couldn't decide which one I liked more. They're both so great and so amazing. Please forgive my indecisiveness on this one.

1. The Birthday Massacre - Violet
First album by TBM I ever heard, therefore, it shall ALWAYS have a special place in my heart. When I first heard it, I thought Play Dead was the best song ever written (I still love it, but not best song ever written status anymore) and I could not turn it off for the first month I heard it.
