Napoleon Dynamite was seriously overrated. I could be wrong but I think it was an even bigger deal here than in most places because it was shot nearby and the guy who made it went to school here. I'm sorry. The actors can be good in other movies. That movie is just not funny. It's really just annoying. I'm still trying to figure out why they made it into its own series. 0.o

I remember finding it hilarious when I was 10. I'm afraid to watch it again, because I'm too scared I'll realize it sucked.

I didn't care for it much when I first saw it. But the more I watched it, the funnier it got for some reason. I can't explain it.

^ Agreed! And I have my ex to thank for that. She's the one who wanted to watch it so much.

Maybe I'll have to try it again. I just know I never bothered because it was so stupid the first time.

Avatar was a seriously overrated movie in my opinion, sure, it had a good storyline and, for lack of a better term, great graphics, I see it as just another usual "slam corporate greed" film, sure, it's a serious issue, but making a movie about it won't do anything, not in my eyes anyway.

Bringing this thread back just to say I think Toy Story 3 is overrated. I love the first one, the second is ok but I didn't enjoy the third much. I can't remember a lot of things I liked about it. Everyone else seems to love it, which is fine. I personally didn't overall.

I think most people liked it just because of the nostalgia involved. I actually thought it was okay, but nowhere near as good as the other two. I love both of them, but the third was meh. I'll watch it if someone puts it on, but it's not something I'll really pay that much attention to or put on myself.

He Died With A Felafel In His Hand is probably the best movie Australia ever made.

I need to add 'The Conjuring' to my list of overrated movies. I don't even watch that many horror films but I could see every single scare coming a mile away. Every review I saw/read praised it and said it was terrifying so I was excited to see it and was totally let down by it's lack of atmosphere and actual scares.

^ I totally understand what you mean! I was expecting to be absolutely terrified but really wasn't. I think they hyped up that movie way too much, definitely.
But I still love it and it's probably my favorite horror movie. :D

^ It's not really a bad film, I mean, there were good things about it, like the characters, they were all fine, unlike many other horror films I've seen and the acting was okay. And it's not like I'll never see it again, I might if it comes on sometime, I did end up seeing it twice after I ordered it on pay per view. Like you said, it was just too hyped up. I'm an avid viewer of online reviews and in one, three grown men around the age of 30 all said 'The Conjuring' was terrifying and some reviews I read said it was the best horror movie of the last decade // of the year so I was really looking forward to seeing it. I also don't really know why it was rated R. Some pg-13 films I've seen were more disturbing than that.

On another note, I pretty much hated 'Gravity'. I know it's a movie you're basically supposed to see because of the effects, which were impressive, but ugh, everything else irritated or bored me. Maybe seeing it at home on my tv took something away from the experience, either way, I didn't care much for it.
