Default Marina and the Diamonds

Just discovered them (OK, I've heard two songs, but my mind is officially blown), so can anyone recommend me some more?

As far as the more commercial pop acts go in the UK, Marina is definitely one of the most talented. Her first album was all about the quirks and insecurities of fitting into the mold of [imminent] record contract "stardom."
In turn, it came off as really candid and a little out of the ordinary (which was great and extremely refreshing...) I loved it!
Then she developed the narcissistic 50's inspired alter-ego of 'Electra Heart' for her sophomore album, which was all about the illusion and frivolity of fame and romance. She even looked like a cartoon version of Lana Del Rey for all the promos.

Like Lana, she seems obsessed with the superficiality of Hollywood, as though it were a bad ex-boyfriend -- but Marina does it a bit more tongue in cheek.

Electra Heart sounds a bit more polished and in-your-face than 'The Family Jewels' but they're both fantastic pop albums in their different ways.

Which songs have you heard?

Off The Family Jewels I recommend:
- Obsessions
- Oh No!
- Mowglis Road
- The Outsider

The album singles also included: Shampain, I Am Not A Robot and Hollywood (which are all good too.)

Off Electra Heart, I love these most:
- Lies
- Power & Control
- Living Dead
- Teen Idle (love the lyrics)
- Fear and Loathing (a bit moodier...)

Let me know what else you think!

I have only heard Shampain and Bubblegum Bitch. I will definitely look into more. (:3
