I saw Lamb of God with As I Lay Dying on the 19th! Definitely one of the best metal shows I've ever been to, and those 2 bands are a couple of my favorite modern metal bands, along with Killswitch Engage, All That Remains and Chimaira.

My Bloody Valentine. Whoaly shit.
130 decibels up our ass.

I got ear plugs, but I mostly didn't use them. We were standing sort of towards the back of the venue, so it wasn't too deafening.

Bilinda is such a cutie, even at her age. Kevin looks old. Debbie is an insane rock demon. Colm is an insane rock demon.

So yeah, loudest band I've ever seen in all my sixteen years of seeing shows.
Absolutely gut-crunching bass, fucking beastly distortion and feedback, and the drumming was so good that the songs off Loveless seemed to come alive properly for the first time.

I'm still rattled by the 10? 15? 20? 30? minutes of thunder that the band collectively produced at the end of You Made Me Realise. 130 decibels apparently.

The four of them just walked on and started playing. Not a spoken word during the entire show, except for Kevin testing "one two, one two".
I hadn't seen any setlists of theirs, so I was pleased to find out that it was a very balanced selection.

I remember them starting with I Only Said and (I think) Only Shallow. Then it becomes a bit of a blur, so here's most of the setlist in (mostly) random order:

I Only Said
Only Shallow
Blown A Wish
When You Sleep
Slow
Nothing Much To Lose
To Here Knows When
When You Wake
Thorn
Soon
Feed Me With Your Kiss
You Made Me Realise

I was really happy with Slow, Nothing Much To Lose and Feed Me.

The Birthday Massacre with Dommin and I Am Ghost at Reggie's Rock Club in Chicago, IL on May 13th, 2009.

The show was phenomenal!
