Ah, I was just about to post this! But you beat me to it.

Oh well. These clips are much better quality and sound absolutely amazing. Multiple eargasms all around!

There's a girl sleeping under the river
where the sun and the rain collide

There's a girl that we watch and we'll soon be with her
She's out of the mind, she doesn't remember

She said I wanna go home
Her face turns white like a sky in December
She said I wanna go home
I wanna go home

There's a black house burning in the moonlight
We're standing at the door and there's no one in sight
This will all be over tonight

Ah, very cool! I was wondering when we would get to hear some samples from this new album. The Birthday Massacre is one of those bands who I know I can depend on to release a solid album where I will not want to skip a single track. It sounds like this next album will be the same way.

Having said that, I don't know if any song in particular jumped out at me and made me say "wow!" the way 'In The Dark' did. I suppose the second sample grabbed me the most (for different reasons). On one hand I don't like the "yelling" pre-chorus at all, yet I totally love the actual chorus hook after it. Overall, it does sound like a more "synth-heavy" album as I didn't notice too many distinctive guitar riffs.

Personally, I wish they would have included the 3 new studio tracks from IMAGINARY MONSTERS EP on this album as "bonus tracks" because I typically hate buying albums that are 10 tracks or less (or albums that have any songs that were cut off....nothing makes me angrier than the whole "b-side" nonsense or the whole "this song didn't fit with the album flow blah blah blah" excuse....every band does it and it's now the #1 reason why I barely buy any cds anymore....I want it all or nothing). Anyways, end of my rant.

The Birthday Massacre is a quality band though, so I will definitely be picking up this album to help support their music and add it to my collection. So far with new Lacuna Coil, The Panic Division and upcoming albums from The Birthday Massacre, Lunatica, Novus Dae and the one I am most excited for....Katatonia...I gotta say that 2012 is certainly making up for a crappy year of music in 2011 (with the exception of Autumn and Within Temptation). Bring it on!

I'm looking forward the the new Swallow the Sun CD. I saw them open for Katatonia and really liked them. I'm seeing both Katatonia and Swallow the Sun in the next few weeks. This sounds kind of Pink Floydish...I like the layering of guitar parts, what sounds like a 12 string in the beginning, a bit of progressive metal sound etc. One of my favorite groups.

I like the samples from Hide and Seek although I tend to like the more rock sound of TBM versus the synthpop 80's sound that this new album seems to be leaning toward.

^ Awesome tune Ender! I am not typically a fan of Swallow The Sun because I don't like the growled vocals they normally do (and wasn't aware they had clean vocal songs til you posted that song). I don't mean to hijack this thread....but have you ever heard "The Justice Of Suffering" by Swallow The Sun? Jonas Renkse (Katatonia singer) does the chorus and bridge vocals in that song.

Also, I do agree with you on saying you prefer the more rock sound to The Birthday Massacre. I hope they won't try to go exclusively "electronic" to where the guitars/drums will eventually play a very minor role.

"So what can I say to make it clear?
You're running away when I'm still here.
This isn't the first time you won't stay,
This isn't the last time you will hear me say..."

That's part of "Need".

Ooh let me help too!

"Down"

Into the fire
Show me now
I wish that I could fake it but I don't know how
I know we'll never make it but I can't stop now
We're only just beginning and it's over

Too late!
No time, it's over now!
Can't wait!
Now we all fall down!
We all fall down into the fire
And my wishes have all come true
We all fall down
I don't want it if I can't be with you

"Calling"

What you lost you'll find
What you want is right in front of you
Look, underneath the stairs
What's broken is repaired
Now there's nothing left behind
Nothing left of you

Voices start to change
Faces rearrange
Eyes roll back and hands are pulling you down
They're dragging you beneath
In between your teeth
You'll sleep when the shadow move over your

Black eyes
I hear you calling out for me tonight
No rest for the soon departed
Black eyes
You won't be dreaming when you sleep tonight
I'll finish what you started

Eyes hiding in the hall
Hanging on the wall
Through this broken window
Feeling the cold distance of the moon
In this empty room
Now there's nothing left behind
And it's all because of you

Cover your ears
You don't wanna hear

"Cover My Eyes"

And how the light kissed my eyes
When I was a child
It was always this - a life that I left behind

Remember the sun
Remember the rain
They're never gonna touch me again tonight

Cover my eyes tonight
Don't let me see the light

Forever the cold of the winter
Forever the moon in my eyes
Now that you're here
It was always this - I fall to the night and the sky

Forever I crawl

"Long Way Home"

Let me go
From here I know
It's a long way home

Into the wood
Under the tree
We follow the trail
Down to the sea
There's nowhere to hide
Don't wait for me
Don't look behind you
There's nothing to see
Below

PS Is anyone else disappointed the album is only like 30 mins long

Wow, why are some of you upset that the album has less songs/isn't long enough? No matter the length it shouldn't matter. The songs sound freakin awesome! Put them on repeat if you need to..I think I'll have no problem listening to them over and over in a loop. I do that with my Imaginary Monsters Ep and alas it satisfies me!

Yeah, I've put those 3 new songs of Imaginary Monsters in a playlist with Pins & Needles. I think quality is what matters most. Sure I would love to hear more songs on an album or even a double album, but it's new, refreshing and of a high quality. If you're want much songs on an album I might suggest buying some grindcore albums. They have lot's of songs on albums, though it never really satisfied me.

Some of my favorite albums have consisted of only 10 songs. And two that I can think of are a little shorter than Hide and Seek. They feel pretty complete when I listen to them as a whole even if they are shorter than a lot of other albums I have. So I have a feeling this one will be that way for me as well.

LOVING those lyrics by the way, I cannot wait to hear this album! :D

Play with Fire

a house of red lights
burns like your wanting out
the rain is awake (?i'm not sure on this line?)
and we say
when we say
we will play with fire
we will play with fire
and every night the red lights

Need

leave for me for my heart
So your first
You caught my eye in a sunday's blitz (? still not sure)
Your making it worse
And you tell me i had my chance
So what can i say to make it clear
You're running away but i'm still here
This isn't the first time you won't stay
This isn't the last time you will hear me say

Alibis

Left behind
you're hiding inside
a perfect life
a picture of lies
I'm hearing you whisper Alibis
ther is a shadow here but there is no light behind me
There stains on the floor (??????)
So two behind me (??????)
The time is drawing near
turns like a knife inside me (????????)
I never wanted before
come stand beside me

One promise

...a sound (??)
tie it up and tear it down
we'll Try and remember
to try and remember (???)
one promise through everything (???)
We'll never notice where we've been (?????)
Our deception you can keep them there (???????)
once you found a backseat waiting for the light to dissapear
I wonder where the night went
looking down the road that let us here
i used to know you
but that was i another life
and i can wait another night to remember
(this song was REALLY hard to understand what Chibi's singing)

In this moment

The time never wants us to remind us (????)
The shadow waits for night
to steal our the breath away (????)
in this moment, we pretend that all that matters
will tell us (????)
We think this is forever
Pretending, believing everything (???)
this moment is endless
You run from your shadow (????)
(Again HARD song to make out what Chibi's saying

May be a bit early to say, but I think "Calling" is going to be my favorite off this album.
