Colostomy Hag are rather un-TBM, so I'd say ...
Chibi with a death metal vibe, mixed with Jack Off Jill's Jessicka, mixed with Angela Gossow's death growls.

The lyrics the protagonist writes are deliberately murderous, banal, and over the top; a real contrast to TBM's mesmerizing songs. Considering this, plus "Colostomy Hag", I think a death growl would be appropriate.

But yeah, on reflection I agree the girls' garb was not death metal at all!

Exclamation Boring Girls to be a digital series!

Exciting news for Chibi!!
It was originally announced at the beginning of this month that Boring Girls will be a digital series! Below you can find all the info about it:

Watch the Teaser for Toronto's Death Metal-Themed Web Series 'Boring Girls'
Quote:
In 2015, ECW Press published Sara Taylor's Boring Girls, a gripping thriller about misogyny in the death metal scene. Now, the novel is being adapted into a web series, and Exclaim! is proud to present the first official taste with an official teaser.

Boring Girls is being adapted by filmmakers Hannah Cheesman and Coral Aiken, who worked with Toronto teen band Hex to bring the story to life.

Cheesman released the following statement about the project:

The world of Boring Girls is rich, raw, and visceral, following two unique young women as they cut their teeth in the male-dominated death metal music scene. Thanks to generous funding from the OMDC, the Boring Girls team (along with DP Catherine Lutes) teamed up with local teen band HEX to realize a startling proof of concept, giving audiences a sneak peek at this little-seen niche world. I am beyond excited to dive into this story and these characters.

The series is set to go into production later this year. Until then, enjoy it's riveting teaser below.

INDIE TUESDAYS: BRINGING BORING GIRLS TO LIFE: INTERVIEW WITH CORAL AIKEN, HANNAH CHEESMAN AND AUTHOR SARA TAYLOR
Quote:
If you haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying the novel “Boring Girls“, from author and The Birthday Massacre lead vocalist Sara Taylor, you’re missing out on one of the best stories around. The novel follows Rachel, a shy high school girl who discovers death metal and finds friendship with a girl named Fern. Together, they form a band and manage to meet their idols in the musical world. This meeting goes drastically wrong, leaving Rachel and Fern scarred and ready for vengeance. It’s a twisted story that will either immediately connect with you, or perhaps leave you out in the cold.

If you ever felt like an outsider, because who didn’t as a teenager, there’s a lot to be familiar with in the novel. Of course, it’s going to take a drastic turn away from anything people have really experienced, but there are also some very intense moments that some will be painfully familiar with. It can be an uncomfortable read, but it’s one of the best novels it has been my pleasure to read in many years.

Enter Coral Aiken and Hannah Cheesman. Aiken is the president of Aiken Heart Films in Toronto, and has produced films like Big Muddy and The People Garden. Cheesman, creator of the digital series Whatever Linda, has a number of acting credits to her name, along with writing, directing, and producing. Together, Aiken and Cheesman are bringing “Boring Girls” to life. A 2 minute proof of concept video was recently launched as creators Aiken and Cheesman begin a proposal for a digital series, bringing Sara Taylor aboard as executive producer.
