Default VP Optimized for Cell Phones

I was looking for an iPhone app that would allow me to read the Violet Prison BB more easily on my Phone. I found one called Tapatalk which makes BB's easier to navigate on cell phones. They say it supports V-Bulletin forums like ours. But when I searched for Violet Prison within the app, I couldn't find it. Is there any way you guys could look into this Tapatalk and see if it is something you can enable for Violet Prison?

Thanks so much!

Dave

Update. It turns out that the moderators would have to install a plugin to make it work.

I dunno how the i-phone works, but on my blackberry I just type the URL for VP into the webbrowser and away I go. Easy, simple, no need for apps!

^^I have an iPhone and I just type the URL into safari and it works fine...I dunno why you would need an app.

I rather just stayed in the illusion that you'd sent all messages by pigeon. Dunno, but I think it would fit you more then an iPhone.

Dunno much about the topic, cause phones hate me. Sometimes it looks like all my contacts are gone and then they pop-up again. And I ended up sending a message for my parents to all my friends. Luckely no private details where involved.

^^^ You have no idea how much that made me smile! Partly because it reminded me of a joke at Uni when my phone broke and my friend was like "Shall we look out for pigeons!?"

Thanks, then we're even again. It made me smile to see how many people are enthousiast about the christmas card idea. I don't come across a lot of situations where I plan things and see it work too. This place =

ML and DH,

Thanks for the suggestions. I actually do access the VP through Safari on my phone. But the site is optimized for a computer screen. So I have to do a lot of scrolling and zooming to make it work.

The app I mentioned, Tapatalk, takes the data from the site but optimizes it for the small screen so that it is very easy to navigate.

Many sites these days will detect if you are on a computer or a phone, and then give you the appropriate interface. As far as I can tell, VP has not yet been optimized for phones. But I believe this app would do it if, VP installs the plugin.

Here's some info from their FAQ:

For Forum Owner:

Q: What is Tapatalk?

A: Tapatalk is a mobile app built specifically for forum access. Different from mobile skin or mobile version that comes with the forum system, Tapatalk allows user to have a unified interface to access multiple forums at the same time. With million of Tapatalk users, your forum can be discovered by potential new members thru Tapatalk Network and our ranking and recommendation system.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: As a forum owner you are free to activate Tapatalk in your forum, and you are free to remove/deactivate it anytime you want to.

Q: Which forum system does it currently support?

A: Currently phpBB3 3.x, vBulletin 3.6 to 4.x, xenForo, IPBoard 3.x, SMF 1.1.11+/2.x, MyBB 1.4/1.6, bbPress 1.1/2.0 and Kunena 1.6+ are supported. Other forum system might also support Tapatalk with plugins developed by third party developers using Tapatalk API. Q: How do I activate Tapatalk on my forum?

A: Activation is free of charge. Login to Forum Owner Area to download the Tapatalk Plugin and get started.

Thanks, CV. It shows that VP is indeed compatible with Tapatalk because VP uses vBulletin®. Now we just need to see if the folks who run Violet Prison would install the Tapatalk plugin.

I think you need to message Echo or Rhim to do that.

I am looking into various forum themes and apps that are more friendly with mobile devices and small screens.
