Default TBM Bristol 24.10.10

The Bristol gig was at The Thekla, a ship moored at the Mud Dock, which is pretty awesome if you ask me.

It was my first time seeing TBM, and they did not disappoint. They were amazing. They had so much energy on stage (especially Owen), and genuinely seemed to be having a lot of fun.

After the show, I waited outside with a few others for TBM to come back out. The forcast said it was supposed to be about -3 that night... and I'm pretty sure it was about that. I was certainly regretting wearing a skirt, that's for sure!

I met Erick and a few of his mates at the show, and it was thanks to him that I met Chibi. My best mate came to the show with me and decided to take a photo of Erick and I.

WHOOOO! Chibi was really confused when I was waiving her over. I just wanted to make sure you two met.

We were RIGHT up in Owen's face, eh? And I love that shot of Rhim!

She looked confused. So glad she liked the bracelets I made for her. Thank you so much for doing that, I would have let everyone else meet her before me, if you hadn't.

And yeah, I didn't realise Owen would be right in front of us. The stage was tiny, though. That photo of Rhim is my favourite photo I took that night. I wasn't able to take many, unfortunately. Don't think I put my camera on the correct setting. Feel free to post any of the ones you took that night as well.

Thanks, Mandy. I really like their outfits too; such a simple style, but it looks fab.

Haha, Chibi and I were chatting before the show. When I waived her over, she thought it was an extension of that conversation. But I wanted to make sure a fellow boardie was hooked up.

The lighting guy, Michel, is insane! He made it difficult to shoot. Ultimately, the photos that turned out well turned out AMAZING, though. That was the only non-barrier gig I saw out of the six. Non-barrier TBM shows always rock, so was the show in Estonia last year.

Ah I see, that makes sense.

I found it very difficult to take many photos with those red lights; my camera doesn't like that colour for some reason, which is frustrating.

You'd think a ú270 ($437?) camera would be ok with things like that, but obviously not in this particular case.

It's got a setting for "high sensitivity" which looks like it's meant for events such as gigs (the auto setting doesn't seem to like low lighting), but doesn't seem to work with red lights for some reason.

I've always wanted to go to photography classes, as I've always had a fascination and keen interest in cameras and photography. Plus, I think they would help me figure out what settings are best to use with my camera. Just a shame my job and illness wouldn't allow it.

My camera is a Panasonic Lumix TZ5.

For a pocket camera, I recommend any of the latest Nikon on Canon models. I know they are a *BIT* more in cost, but worth it! My pocket Nikons have taken amazing photos at TBM shows and around Europe and Africa. ...until I broke the first one because I sat on it when the lens was extended. >.<

this was my first TBM gig and the sound was the best i have ever heard. it was not overpoweringly loud like any other gig iv been to, and you could hear every nuance in the sound.

it was almost like playing the CDs on big-ass speakers! went with my cousin and we bumped into Chibi after the show. i asked her why they didnt play PALE and she told me to take it up with Rainbow!

hands down the best gig ever - tied first place with alice in chains...
